The attention to détail at Riad Cheratta is first class. The location is perfect, walking distance from just about everywhere and right in the Medina but an oasis of calm once through the door. The rooms are high spec and beautiful, the owner and her team could not be more welcoming and the food is amazing. We had an evening meal which was fabulous and the breakfasts have home made bread, preserves and pancakes with freshly squeezed fruit and a fruit basket... we were ruined for lunch :). We were even furnished with a mobile phone pre-loaded with some essential numbers in case of problems while we were out. The only bad thing about our stay was that it was too short!!

This small and beautiful riad is in a great location within the Medina. The accommodation is of very high quality. All is very clean and breakfast is excellent. Most importantly, it is run by Valerie, who is a wonderful person - she makes it her mission in life to ensure that your stay goes perfectly, and her team are fantastic too. As other people have written, it's genuinely like being at home, except you're in Marrakesh. You won't find anywhere better to have a wonderful stay in this interesting and beautiful destination.

Just back from 5 nights at Riad Cherrata. First thing to say is that the reviews are all correct, this is the best possible base for a stay in Marrakech. Valerie and team are the perfect hosts, including arranging airport transfers, the reception meeting with mint tea and pastries, the magic map and phone, the personal advice on places to see, the amazing breakfasts and more. The Riad itself is lovely, an oasis from the hustle and bustle, spotlessly clean and with lovely terraces with views across Marrakech. The city itself is incredible, we highly recommend the two contrasting palaces (Bahdi and Bahia) and the photography museum. We also loved the Kasbah Quarter and enjoying food/drinks on the roof terrace of the Kasbah cafe. A visit to a hammam is also a must, again for us arranged by Valerie. The unique place is very like being at home, the staff are friendly and helpful, with a limit of 8 guests at a time it makes it a very personal experienceAs female travellers we felt safe and well looked after. Valerie gives you all the local hints an tips on arrival. we were very tired so didn't take everything in, but she is helpful and will share details with you as needed.There is an excellent team who are very approachable and make your stay great.

Our experience in marakesh the hotel guest house called riad cherrata was very clean specially the owner valerie she was the best of human kind. She will receive you explain to you everything about marrakesh with a big map in front of her where and how to go. Putting things in the front pockets not to put money or phone in your back pockets how to bargain with the local traders and give you a little map if you get lost how to get back to the guest house even if you get lost which we have few times you ask one of the locals show them the address they will show you even take you to the place if it's near by people are very polite and friendly.The two house maid's were so wonderful even though they can't speak English specialy sadeah makes breakfast and it's so much you will not finish all even if you are a big eater it's so much to eat and eza cleans the rooms change the bed sheets every two days bathroom cleaned fresh towels every single day and they are all so kind unbelievable even give you fresh bottle of water everyday i give them 5 star good luck girls well done you made us feel like home all the best good buy take care from gous uddin and wife. Valerie was the perfect host. She gave us "the magic map" to go around Marrakesh, very useful. Moreover she gave us a a lot of information about places to visit, travel agencies, transportation to go around, places to eat, everything you need during a vacation. The team is amazing, paying attention to every detail. I stayed at Riad Cherrata for 4 nights, and would recommend it without hesitation. The owner, Valerie, and her staff were the height of kindness and quality. As well as offering clean, comfortable, and beautiful accommodation very well located Valerie gave me a detailed explanation of how to enjoy Marrakesh safely, and even gave me a Moroccan mobile phone with relevant emergency numbers. The homemade breakfast was superb (included in the room price), and I enjoyed my stay at the Riad as much as I did my holiday in Marrakesh.Their hosting was faultless and superb value. I fully recommend to anyone, and wish Valerie and her staff the very best of luck.

It's a beautiful boutique hotel inside the Marrakech old town. Besides the comfortable rooms and decoration, Valerie's attention was wonderful. I have never seen a person who has the interest to assure we were happy during our stay. And not only inside the hotel. Valerie helped us to organize in one day two specialized tours close to Marrakech. We had an unforgettable stay in Marrakech and the Riad Cherrata and Valerie contributed to that.

What you see is what you get.. plus more! the place was exactly as described on the web. It is situated in the heart of the Medina and very close to the shops and main square.Upon arrival Valerie was there to greet us and gave us all the info we needed. At first it seemed like it was an overload, but trust me, you will definitely need all of it especially if it's your first time in Marrakesh (or Morocco in general). She gave us all the contacts, places to visit, street etiquette and a mobile phone too with a local number! She had also saved contacts for taxis who already had an agreed reasonable fare (so we did not have to haggle for that). This definitely made our trip much more relaxing and stress free. Plus Ali & his brother ( the taxi drivers) were very polite and reliable. They were always on time. The Riad was maintained in very high standards - very clean with an excellent ambience. Izza and Halima would always greet you with a smile and were extremely polite. To top it all, Saâdia made really good breakfast and as long as you advise her what time you like having it, she would always make sure it was ready as soon as you come down. I hardly give reviews after holidays, but for this I really felt the need to. They all totally deserve 5 stars for the service! Once you visit I'm sure you will have the same sentiments.

Quickly after booking Valérie contacted me to introduce herself and offer help. Valerie arranged our airport transfers and also let me know what room we would be staying in and asked if we wanted twin beds or a double bed. Amazing service from the very start.As promised the driver was waiting with the sign to collect us to take us to the Riadon arrival.On arriving at the Riad we have a wonderful welcome from Valérie and we were given the magic map which is so useful we used it so many times whilst staying there. We were also given tea and pastries on arrival which were stunning and such a nice touch. We were given lots of information and even a mobile phone we could use on our stay should we need Valérie or any help. Never had this anywhere before exceptional service.Our room was lovely, air conditioned and very clean. Everything you could possibly need and water and drink making facilities too. Toiletries and clean towels every day.The breakfasts were fabulous such a selection the only shame was we could not eat it all. Most of it freshly made at the Riad by Saâdia (who was always there to welcome us at the Riad) and the freshly made yoghurt was to die for and the breads stunning I could go on.The location is great also 10 to 15 minutes walk to the main square. The magic map came in handy finding our way back but you soon get the feel for the place and find your bearings.Valérie also booked us an excursion to the Atlas mountains everything was as planned excellent. If you do, do this trip make sure you have comfy shoes there is some difficult walking as part of it.My partner had his birthday while we were there and I had mentioned it to Valérie before we came and on the morning of his birthday at breakfast Valérie brought a cake with a candle and sang bon anniversaire which was so lovely. We ate the cake that night with coffee. Again the coffee stunning.I could write for hours about the Riad and Valérie, Saâdia, Izza and Halima as they were just amazing and so friendly and helpful we honestly could not have asked for more. They felt like friends when we left.Thank you for making our stay so special and we will always come and stay with you when we visit and will tell others also. I hope you are all safe and well and we hope to see you soon.

Everything positive said about the riad and Valerie (and her staff) is accurate. What a lovely, helpful host. Met at the airport as arranged (and returned there on departure), excellent restaurant recommendations: we were only there for 3 nights but very much enjoyed Pepe Nero (less than 10 minute walk) and Al Fassia Aguedal. The latter was by taxi (less than £5 each way c/o the ubiquitous Ali who works with his brother and is Valerie’s “go to”). The walk from the riad to the main square is an eye opener - and eyes must be permanently open, night and day, for mopeds and (slower moving) donkey carts. We used Hotel Ali and another office in the square for currency exchange which was simple and at good rates. In the square there is a cacophony of sound and activity: every imaginable stall plus snake charmers, monkeys on leads, horse and carriage rides, cafes, restaurants - and that was only in daytime! We took the hop on hop off bus and recommend the impressive Badia Palace ruins then enjoy a nearby rooftop drink and/or snack at Kosybar. A great, if short, experience. At times hard work walking in the heat but there’s always Ali and his taxi. Valerie’s breakfasts will keep you going till sunset. My wife dropped her pyjama top in the shower and left it hanging up to dry. We returned that evening to find it had been washed and ironed. Large modern hotels and air conditioned tour buses obviously an option but if you’re only going to Marrakesh once, contact Valerie.

I normally don't throw myself in writing a review about anything really but in this particular case, it is worth it. First of all, Valerie is such an amazing person and the best host I've ever met. She really knows how to make you feel like home but at the same time safe. From the very beginning, she explained to us everything you would really need to know about a new place/culture, how to get around with people, how to get a good deal, whom to deal with and who to avoid. It's basically like having your own personal tour guide who's there for you with any information at any time and ready to help you with anything you need. For example: as traveling from Europe, I didn't have to use my roaming because she gave us a small phone with credit and with a few important contacts already saved in (as police, taxi, hotel, and her number) As for the place, that's where things get even better. The room we had was absolutely stunning. Perfectly cleaned, with a nice smell and a good vibe. Another amazing place is the terrace where you can go and simply enjoy the sunset, and believe me, it felt like a fairytale. I could not be more grateful for the whole treatment we received from Valerie and her amazing team.I and my friend decided that if we're gonna visit again Marrakesh, we're defo gonna stay at the same place.PS: don't do the mistake to skip the breakfast, that's just gonna make your day !!!!!

Wow! The stay at Riad chettata was amzaing!. Never stayed in a Riad before, so was little worried. But soon as we arrived, Valerie the owner, made us feel so much at home. She gave us great advise about the local areas and prices, she even had a little map drawn. The Riad was beautiful and peaceful. Rooms were immaculate and and comfortable,break fast was amazing also with ranges of different morroccan bread and deilious pancakes. All the local attractions were very near by so was lovely just to have a stoll around enjoying the culture.Thank you so much Valerie and your little team, we were well looked after and had a wonderful time.

Fantastic little hotel, highly recommended.This is an example of a hotel featuring typical Moroccan architecture with beautiful decoration all around, very comfortable areas and rooms, a terrace with one of the most fantastic views of the city, located near the city centre, markets and top restaurants. To top up, the hotel staff are a fantastic bunch. Starting with the owner Valerie who go the extra mile to give you a warm welcome with mint tea and cakes while she provides an extensive explanation and advice of the area, locals, lookouts, maps, tourism, prices, etc. Then you have Saâdia who is in charge of the kitchen providing a delicious breakfast and is always available during your stay. Finally Izza and Halima who keep the hotel perfectly clean and tidy.All-in-all, the hotel offers great location, comfort, super and friendly customer service. We will definitely return!

The Riad was amazing and Valerie and her team were exceptional. They couldn't have done more for us and Valerie gave us some useful tips for getting around Marrakech as well as a phone with usual numbers in and a couple of maps, one hand drawn. Well what a superb Riad. Perfect in every way: the location so close to the various souks, the tourist attractions and the central market. All walking distance. Our stay started with a smart and ready taxi driver who was arranged by riad owner (as was our return). Very easy. Then a really helpful sit down chat with owner who spoke English and French about our stay. This was SO useful as was her personal map you will get and mobile phone (on Moroccan tel signal). This made our 4 days so much easier and enjoyable. Superb breakfast - great housekeeper - loved the special yoghurt, the home made breads and pancakes. Full range of places to eat at lunch and dinner of different costs - owner really helpful with suggestions.Comfy beds that were made each morning (room carefully tidied for us too - thanks!). Fresh towels each day. En-suite good and shower huge and warm/hot.The difference with this riad is the personal touch the owner and housekeeper give which made our holiday really enjoyable.Would highly recommend and we hope to return when we can. The lady’s are amazing!This is what good service is call absolutely incredible. Very helpful and personal service I felt like a was at home! Incredible I will definitely go back again! We stayed for 7 nights and had a wonderful time at Riad Cherrata. Valerie and her team are amazing, they will help you as best as they can with any problem. The "magic map", Valerie made, is so helpful for orientation. We only can confirme all the other positiv comments and if we'll visit Marrakech again, we'll definitely come back to Raid Cherrate!

The riad is in a great location in the Medina. There was a Lovely terrace, a peaceful atmosphere, relaxing rooms and a delicious breakfast. Most of all, Valérie and her team went out of their way to welcome us, despite issues with our flight and a late arrival. We were even given a phone in case we had any issues! Highly recommended to anyone visiting Marrakech - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay .

Her and her team have created a warm, welcoming, comfortable and calming environment in the middle of a bustling city which is on your door step to explore. The Riads location within Medina lets you explore the city, its souks, landmark's and restaurants. The breakfast is a wonderful mix of home made Moroccan dishes with a French twist and fresh fruit. Valerie goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is hassle free, with her welcome tea where she guides you on how to get the best experience when visiting Marrakesh. The maps and phone you are given are a great help when exploring the city and there are plenty of organised trips which Valerie can arrange for you.

Valerie was a magnificent hostess. She was extremely informative, always at hand to help out with any little query. We were given a local phone on arrival to allow us to always have contact with her and local taxis. Her small team of ladies were always available morning to night. The Riad was indeed beautifully cared for with calm hues and fabrics, flowers, beautifully served breakfast and an obvious woman’s touch, which can so often be missing in Arab countries.

The riad does look amazing and everything has that charming, special Marrakesh vibe—but what made the experience exceptional was our host Valerie, together with Sadia and the other stuff. Valerie and Sadia where excellent. They allowed us to have breakfast whenever we wanted really. They gave us loads of recommendations and even gave me a spare phone with a local sim to help in case we got lost. The riad is luxurious, you can expect a four-poster bed with AC, a roof terrace and classic mini swimming pool in the middle that you can look down onto. They bathrooms look incredible - James-Bond-esq vibes. In terms of location, you are a few minutes walk from the main markets, and v close to the town-square. Upon arrival Valarie sat us down, provided us with maps, including a simplified version and helped us to plan our time there. I would highly recommend this Riad.

The whole package was just perfect. Valerie’s service was incredible. She gave us tips before arriving, met us outside the Medina to show us a place to park the car and gave us a little briefing about the hotspots. You will get a little phone when staying there to reach Valerie or a taxi driver, while you’re exploring the city. The Riad is extremely clean and everyone who’s working there is so nice and diligent. The rooftop is awesome and a good place to escape the hectic. It takes about a 5 minute walk and you’re in the middle of the markets and little streets of the Medina. We did a road-trip across Morocco and booked the Riad again for our last day, because we liked it so much! This Riad will always be our first choice in Marrakech. Thank you very much!
